Advanced Search Tips

  1. In the left-hand drop down field, select the field on which you want to perform your search.
  2. Enter the terms you want to search in the right-hand box. For example, if you select to search by Item ID and enter “123” in the right-hand box. The site will search for any Item ID that contain “123”.

    You can also perform a Boolean Search in the right hand box.

    For example, if you want to find all items that contain both drill and chuck in the description, you would use a Boolean search with the word “AND” separating the terms: drill AND chuck.

    The following table lists and explains the available Boolean operators.

    Boolean Operator: Description:

    AND

    The AND operator is an exclusive search. This means that if you use the AND operator, the item will be returned as a result only if both of the two terms on either side of AND are present in the item data.

    OR

    The OR operator is an inclusive search. This means that if you use the OR operator, the item will be returned as a result of the search if the term on either side of the OR operator is present in the item data.

    “”

    Adding quotation marks to either side of a set of search terms means that B2B Seller will search the item data for that exact expression, and only those items that have a matching expression will return as results to the search.

    <space>

    In this case, <space> represents a text space in between two terms. It performs exactly as an AND operator. For example, if you typed drill bit into the search field, the space between “drill” and “bit” in that search is the same as using AND.

  3. Click the Add Criteria button to add if you want to search based on more than one field. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 for the new row.
  4. If you expanded the search to include more than one field, select either And or Or from the radio buttons in Search Type field, depending on what kind of search you want to perform. This will determine if the search between rows in the search will be And or Or style.
  5. After you finished your search criteria, click the Search button to run the search and return the resulting items.
