This Spectroquant Manganese Reagent Test allows the accurate quantification of the concentration of all manganese ion species in aqueous samples.
Method applied: All manganese ions are reduced to manganese(II) ions using ascorbic acid. In weakly alkaline solution these to manganese(II) ions react with 1-(2-pyridylazo)-2-naphthol (PAN) to form a red complex which is determined photometrically.
The Spectroquant Reagent Test Kits contain highly stable, ready-to-use reagent mixtures to perform the analysis according to the procedure described in the accompanying instruction leaflet.
