July 25, 2023, Rapid City, SD—The 6th Annual Midland Scientific Open Tennis tournament, held in Rapid City, SD, has come to a successful conclusion. The tournament had 90+ players from a variety of locations around the country. Both the Men’s and Women’s Open Singles draws featured some extremely compettive play at the highest competitive levels. The Men’s Open Singles champion was Mr. Kyle Seelig from Chalfont, PA. Kyle played his college tennis at Ohio State University. He is currently playing on the professional tour with a world ranking of 349. The Woman’s Open Singles champion was Ms. Kelsey Phillips from Minnetonka, MN. Kelsey is headed to the University of Montana to play Division I college tennis. In addition to the entertainment value of a professional tennis tournament, the Midland Scientific Open Tennis Tournament generates considerable economic impact as well as multiple interactions with local tennis programs promoting the sport.
